Are you passionate about having an impact on climate change? Do you like big, audacious goals? Do you want first hand experience working for and running a non-profit? We’re looking for a few amazing volunteer interns to join us. iMatter is a microphone for youth and is a youth-driven non-profit organization dedicated to igniting the change that ends the climate crisis.
Founded by then 13-year old Alec Loorz 9 years ago, iMatter is now planning a new campaign called iMatterNow launching in the fall of 2015. iMatterNow will equip youth leaders to stand up for their future and hold their communities accountable.
As an intern you will work closely with iMatter staff and the iMatter Youth Council, our youth leadership body made up mainly of high school and middle-school aged youth leaders from around the country. All interns will be assigned an adult mentor, that could be a member of the iMatter staff or an iMatter volunteer.
All positions require strong teamwork, excellent communication skills, and a drive to get things done. All interns must have access to a computer and a knowledge of working with Google Docs. Some experience in the internship area is a plus, but not required.
We’re looking for a minimum 6-month commitment to positions, but longer is also possible. We anticipate intern roles requiring 5-10 hours per week.
iMatter is a virtual organization with staff, volunteers, and Youth Council members located around the country. As such, there are no location requirements for the intern positions.
We currently do not have any open youth intern roles.
Working with iMatter is an opportunity to grow, be creative, and be a part of a fun team working to build a movement to end the climate crisis. We promise you’ll learn a lot, and hope you’ll join us!
To apply, please email your resume, and a brief statement about why you’d like to work with iMatter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
